Why Ovarian Cancer?

This year more than 22,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and more than 15,000 women may die. Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of all the gynecological cancers and there is no reliable, easy-to-administer screening test to help women and their doctors diagnose it early while it is most treatable.

Our Goal

Our 2008 fundraising objective is to raise an amazing $200,000 to promote ovarian cancer research leading to a reliable ovarian cancer screening test to enhance early diagnosis of the disease and more effective therapeutic interventions to enhance treatment outcomes and cancer survival rates.

The Visionary

Bethany Diamond, well-known Atlanta fitness instructor and member of the Nautilus Fitness Academy, recently experienced a personal loss due to ovarian cancer. She envisioned an event that would revolutionize ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment by promoting research, while inspiring hundreds of people to become more fit and healthy as they contribute to the cause.

The event was launched in Atlanta in 2004. This year the event is being held in three cities and she hopes to spread the event across the U.S. in coming years.
