Welcome message from Ovarian Cycle team

Happy Holidays from your friends at Ovarian Cycle! Since you probably have a lot to do during this wonderful, but hectic, holiday season, we are going to keep this newsletter short and sweet. We would like to extend our thanks and goodwill to all of our supporters. And remember, for the person who has everything, think about making a gift donation to Ovarian Cycle: http://www.ovariancycle.org! Just click on the "General Donation" tab, enter in the requested information and an acknowledgement card will be mailed to the recipient alerting them of the donation made on their behalf. Just think, you not only can you give a unique gift, you can also help change the future for all women! Cheers & Peace to you all! [top]

Thank You Message from OCI (an Ovarian Cycle Beneficiary)

2006 has been an incredible year for the Ovarian Cancer Institute!  We are growing and our research is flourishing at Georgia Tech.  Every day, we are able to analyze ovarian cancer tumors and feel that we are closer than ever to a marker that could lead to an early detection test.  None of this would be possible without the support of events like Ovarian Cycle.  I encourage each and all to get on a bike in 2007 and help bring an end to the "silent killer". Wishing you a healthy and happy New Year!

Dr. Benedict Benigno
Founder and CEO, Ovarian Cancer Institute

Rockin' Event on December 18th to Benefit Ovarian Cancer Research

Looking for a rollicking reprieve from holiday shopping? Come celebrate Keith Richards' birthday at Blind Willie's in Virginia Highlands on Monday, December 18th and support ovarian cancer research! We know, an unusual combination -- but randomness does add spice to life! All proceeds from the $5 cover will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Institute and Ovarian Cancer Research Fund through local organization Ovarian Cycle.

Good news: Johanna's Law

A press release issued by the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition this month states that "Congress has granted final and unanimous approval for a life-saving piece of legislation that will fund awareness and education programs about the warning signs and risk factors of deadly gynecologic cancers, including ovarian cancer. The landmark bill, known as "Johanna's Law: The Gynecological Cancer Education and Awareness Act," creates a federal campaign designed to improve early detection and increase survival." Now that the Senate and the House have passed the bill, it now goes to President Bush for his signature.
