Interested in hosting an Ovarian Cycle event in your city? Here is an overview of what it takes.
We currently employ two methods of customizing our signature fundraising events to suit your needs: Ovarian Cycle: Ride to Change the Future ™ and Ovarian Cycle: Ready? Set. Ride! ™.
The Ride to Change the Future event is very structured; 6 weeks of training followed by a 6-hour indoor cycling, virtual century ride.
The Ready? Set. Ride! event can be tailored to suit the culture of your club or company in a longer or shorter ride format.
OVARIAN CYCLE INC. WILL PROVIDE:
· An event plan
· Registration and donation management
· Personalized affiliate website
· Web page for each participant to use in their fundraising efforts
· Customized collateral/marketing materials
· Templates to produce additional marketing materials
· Budget for your management of event
· Other support as needed
AFFILIATE RESPONSIBILITY:
· Assemble a team of 3 – 4 like-minded individuals to assist you in implementing your Ovarian Cycle event
· Secure a location for the event
· Work with that location’s management to: schedule instructors; schedule the room for training and the event; equipment use
· Market the event
· Recruit riders
· Recruit volunteers
· Solicit sponsorship (cash and/or in-kind donation of products/services i.e.: food & beverages, items for rider goody bags, sound system, etc.)
· Communicate with participants and encourage their fundraising efforts; keep them engaged
· Manage event day including: scheduling volunteers, in-take system for participants, assigning bikes for each participant, assigning instructors for each hour of the event
RIDER/PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY:
· Fundraising: commitment to reach minimum required fundraising goal
· Train for event as necessary for their comfort at final ride
· Recruit friends and family to support them as needed
· Have fun!
PROCEEDS:
As our primary national charity partner, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund receives a portion of proceeds from each Ovarian Cycle event held across the country. And, we also support a select local ovarian cancer charity in the areas where our events take place.
